The development of academic programs is a process of planning, implementation and evaluation of learning that aims to ensure that the academic programs offered are able to help the success and development of students.

All academic program applications must comply with the requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF), Code of Practice for Program Accreditation (COPPA) and related program standards administered by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), as well as manuals/ guidelines of professional bodies (if relevant).

UMK's Academic Program Development Guidelines (GPPPA) have been developed to help launch the academic program development process at UMK to obtain accreditation approval from MQA/ relevant professional bodies, certification from the Higher Education Committee (JKPT), Department of Higher Education (JPT), Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and subsequently obtain the approval of the Minister of Higher Education.
